According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, the area will continue to have scattered thunderstorms in the coming days.

Weather forecast for the South in the next 24-48 hours, the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) with its axis through the Northern and North Central regions continues to raise its axis slowly to the North and gradually weaken. Southwest monsoon maintains intensity from medium to strong.

Above, the southern branch of the subtropical high pressure through the South East Sea area weakens and lowers its axis southward. Upper-level wind convergence is operating well.

Weather forecast for the South in the next 3-10 days, a low pressure trough through the North will be weak and gradually fade. In the last 3-4 days, a low pressure trough with an axis through the North region is likely to form.

The Southwest monsoon continues to operate with moderate to strong intensity. Above, the southern branch of the subtropical high pressure continues to weaken and lower its axis southward; from around August 12-13, it tends to encroach westward again. Upper-level wind convergence is operating well in the Southern region.

Therefore, the South has scattered showers and thunderstorms, common rainfall of 15-30mm, locally heavy to very heavy rain over 80mm. Rain mainly concentrated in the afternoon and night.

During thunderstorms, people need to be wary of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind, which can cause trees to fall, damage houses, traffic works and infrastructure, affecting agricultural production.

Heavy rain also has the risk of causing flooding, traffic jams, affecting travel, living, production and crops.
