Forecast of when the rain will decrease in the South

HẠ MÂY |

According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, Ho Chi Minh City and other southern provinces and cities are likely to see less rain in the next 4-5 days.

On the afternoon of October 10, monitoring satellite cloud images, weather radar images and lightning positioning showed that thunderstorms were developing, causing rain with thunderstorms and lightning in Binh Chanh area, Hoc Mon district, District 12, Cu Chi district, Thu Duc city.

In the next 0 - 3 hours, thunderstorms will continue to develop, causing showers, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in the above districts, then expanding to other neighboring areas such as central districts, Nha Be district...

Rainfall is generally from 5 - 15mm, some places over 30mm. During thunderstorms, beware of tornadoes, hail and strong gusts of wind around level 5 - 7 (8 - 17m/s), heavy rain causing localized flooding.

The thunderstorms are caused by stable continental cold high pressure. The equatorial low pressure trough has an axis at about 6-9 degrees North latitude. The high-altitude easterly wind disturbance has a weak impact on the weather in the South.

Around October 11-12, the continental cold high pressure is weakened and shifted back to the East. The equatorial low pressure trough slightly lifts its axis to the North through the South Central - South regions, and around October 11-12, it tends to slowly shift to the South.

Weather in the South: Cloudy to cloudy, with rain, showers in many places, scattered thunderstorms, some places with moderate rain, heavy rain, locally very heavy rain. During thunderstorms, beware of tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind.

Beware of heavy rain causing localized flooding in low-lying areas along the river.

From October 14 onwards, rain tends to decrease and occur sporadically, concentrated in the afternoon and evening, and sunny during the day.
