The project to upgrade and expand National Highway 32, the section through Tay Dang town (old Ba Vi district, now Quang Oai commune) phase 1 has started construction. The upgraded and expanded section is about 1.7km long, expected to be completed in August 2025.
However, it is now November, the project is still unfinished. People have repeatedly reported that the construction works have been sluggish for a long time, causing consequences of dust and environmental pollution, especially the constant traffic insecurity on the route.

On November 10, a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper had an interview with Mr. Vu Viet Cuong - Director of the Investment - Infrastructure Project Management Board (Quang Oai Commune, Hanoi) about the progress of the project to upgrade and expand National Highway 32 Phase 1.
Regarding the reason for the project delay, Mr. Vu Viet Cuong said that the continuous storms and rain in recent months have prevented the contractor from implementing construction on site.
Up to now, when the weather is more favorable, the contractor has mobilized machinery, equipment, and personnel to start construction of the remaining items of the project.
Currently, the contractor is implementing the construction of curbs, one side of the median strip, and one side of the sidewalk. Along with that is the water suction in the technical hao to construct the underground section of the power system, then the sidewalk can be constructed.
For the roadbed rolling and crushed stone layering item, due to the remaining water and moisture, construction cannot be carried out. It is expected that this item will be implemented in the next few days.

The Quang Oai Commune Infrastructure - Investment Project Management Board is also actively coordinating with relevant units to relocate the signal lighting system at the National Highway 32 - Thanh Nien intersection to hand over the construction site to the contractor.
"The investor has urged the contractor to develop a suitable construction organization plan, increase shifts, increase shifts to complete and open the 800m section from Ba Vi Power Company to Lan Chi Supermarket in 2025, helping people travel smoothly" - Mr. Cuong said.
The Investment - Infrastructure Project Management Board also requires contractors to add signs and instructions for traffic safety systems on the route; arrange to increase irrigation to keep the road surface moist, reduce road dust to avoid affecting the visibility of traffic participants.

For the remaining section of the route, about 900m long, Mr. Vu Viet Cuong said that it is not possible to implement synchronous construction due to land clearance problems.
"The local government is speeding up the progress of land acquisition and site clearance, trying to hand over the site to the construction unit to implement the project as soon as possible" - said the Director of the Quang Oai Commune Infrastructure - Investment Project Management Board.
