As a young person, I want to try the feeling of working during Tet days, when the streets are crowded and lively, the rhythm of life is completely different from normal days. Both have extra income and learn how to handle situations and communicate with many different types of customers. Those experiences are not always available" - Minh Anh said.
According to Minh Anh, when you have a family, reunions will become more important. But at the present time, choosing to stay in the city to work during Tet is a valuable experience in your own journey of maturity.
For many young people in Hanoi, the initial difficulties when not being able to reunite with family during Tet are gradually erased thanks to the support from parents. Going to work throughout Tet, from being "strange", has now become a habit.
Luong Viet Hoang - a bartender (23 years old, Hanoi) considered going to work during Tet as an annual routine. "Since I got into university, I have been working throughout Tet. In the early years, I was also quite sad because I could not be with my family near Tet. But after each Tet period, I saved a small amount to buy gifts for my parents. That was the joy to compensate for the feeling of absence at that time" - Hoang shared.
According to Hoang, being born and raised in Hanoi, his Tet atmosphere is quite simple, mainly going to wish Tet to relatives and staying with family. "For me, the most important thing is the night of the 30th and morning of the 1st. I want to take advantage of the remaining days to work to have more income, and at the beginning of the year have a small gift for my family" - Hoang said.
The decision to work throughout Tet also came from the support of my parents. "This is also a lucky thing that my parents are not too burdened with having to be fully present at home. That helps me feel much more secure" - Hoang said.
Generous" salary and bonus
From the perspective of the store manager, this year is the first year the shop decides to operate throughout Tet. The demand for recruiting more workers is not too large, mainly long-term employees who wish to celebrate Tet to increase income and experience the working atmosphere on special days.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh - manager of Bellanco store said: "The store does not recruit additional personnel outside but prioritizes hardworking employees. Tet bonuses are applied to all employees who have been with us during the year, calculated according to seniority. Especially those who work Tet will receive an additional percentage of revenue during Tet days".
Accordingly, employees working during holidays are entitled to a salary of 300% according to regulations, and also receive additional revenue bonuses. 10% of revenue during Tet days will be deducted separately to reward employees who directly work. "Because it is the first year running throughout Tet, the store wants you to put in effort to receive worthy salaries and bonuses" - Mr. Binh said.
At the registration section for Tet work, most of the people who registered to work during this occasion are friends in Hanoi or those with personal circumstances who want to take advantage of the holidays to earn extra income.
