Strategic route connecting point
Nearly 66 years ago (October 30, 1960), implementing Resolution 15 (term II), our army and people opened a strategic corridor from North to South - a task of key significance for the Southern revolution.

Accordingly, Team B90 was assigned the task of clearing the route from the North to the Central Highlands. While Team C200 advanced from the Southeast, building facilities and coordinating to open roads.
At 4:00 PM on October 30, 1960, in Buon Bsarada (former Loc Bac commune – now Bao Lam 5 commune, Lam Dong province), the two forces successfully established contact, marking the smooth operation of the North-South strategic corridor.

Colonel Tran Tan Cong (96 years old, former Deputy Commander of the Military Command of Lam Dong province) recalled that after being cleared, the road became a "blood vessel" for transportation, ensuring human and material support from the northern rear to the southern battlefield.
From there, the strategic corridor makes an important contribution to forming a solid revolutionary base system in the area.
Throughout the resistance period, the army and people of Loc Bac and Loc Bao in the past persistently stayed, protecting the route; fighting against sweeps and shooting down enemy aircraft in the B'Tru hill area.
Many villages of the Ma people such as Bon B'Lach A have been relocated to the mountains to maintain the revolutionary base.
After the country's reunification, the Liaison Stele was built in hamlet 3, Loc Bao commune (now Bao Lam 5 commune) to commemorate and show gratitude to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed here.

Thereby, contributing to building a revolutionary base from "not to have" to create a large revolutionary base area to reach the final victory in the cause of national defense, which is to liberate the South and unify the country on April 30, 1975.
Today, Bao Lam 5 land continues to be invested in socio-economic development, while preserving and promoting the historical value of the strategic corridor.
The forests here still preserve the memory of a time of "bitter hardship", where the Co Ho and Chau Ma people resiliently followed the Party, contributing to the great victory of the nation.
Changing the heroic land
After the merger, despite many difficulties, Bao Lam 5 commune has achieved many positive results in all fields. Notably, the successful organization of the 1st Commune Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030.

The organizational structure has been consolidated, operating stably and effectively. The economy continues to grow, the structure shifts in the right direction; people's lives are gradually improved.
The highlight in the past time is the movement to build a "bright - green - clean - beautiful" landscape. The commune has implemented a flower road more than 1km long, planting flowers on an area of about 3,000m2; socialized the installation of a lighting system more than 1.5km long; established a garbage collection team, contributing to changing the face of rural areas.

Secretary of the Party Committee of Bao Lam 5 commune Hoang Thi Thu Ha said that the achieved results are proof of the spirit of solidarity, innovation and development aspirations of the locality.
This is also the foundation for the commune to continue to successfully implement the 2026 goals, towards rapid and sustainable development, and improving people's lives.
