The Dang Thai Mai road construction project - phase I (Tay Ho ward, Hanoi) was started on January 15, 2025.
The project was approved by the old Tay Ho District People's Committee in Decision No. 1434/QD-UBND dated August 26, 2024 with a total investment of 552.697 billion VND (of which, site clearance costs are 391.431 billion VND; construction costs are 82.872 billion VND).
The starting point of the project is from the Tay Ho villa area, the ending point of the project is at the intersection with Xuan Dieu street with a route length of 1,260m.
The scale of the road cross-section is divided into 2 sections: Section 1 from the starting point intersecting with Xuan Dieu street to alley 35 Dang Thai Mai street has a cross-section width of 93.6m including traffic roads on both sides, each route is 19 - 21m wide (road surface 15m, urban sidewalks 4 - 6m wide), the landscape axis in the middle is 51.6m wide; section 2 next to section 1 to the end point of the route, has a cross-section width of 20.5m including road surface 11.25m wide, sidewalks 2 x 4.625m.



The Dang Thai Mai road project - phase I is implemented according to the general planning orientation of Hanoi Capital approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1668/QD-TTg dated December 27, 2024. Accordingly, Hanoi Capital is oriented to develop with 5 important space axes, including: Red River axis, West Lake axis - Ba Vi, West Lake axis - Co Loa, Nhat Tan axis - Noi Bai and South Hanoi axis.
The Investment and Infrastructure Project Management Board of Tay Ho Ward said that the total land area recovered for project implementation is 48,338.6m2, related to 184 land plots of many organizations and individuals.
Determining that site clearance is always a sensitive issue, prone to lawsuits, the Investment - Infrastructure Project Management Board and local authorities have implemented the process methodically and in accordance with legal regulations.
In particular, in the issue of people's rights, the government has proactively developed compensation and support plans that are close to reality, ensuring that people are not disadvantaged.
In addition, the resettlement housing fund with 39 apartments in convenient locations (C Xuan La house and MHDI-1 My Dinh area) has been carefully prepared, helping people soon stabilize their lives after handing over the land.


By early December 2025, there are still 10 cases that have not complied with site handover in the Ao Khau - Cua Trai area.
Tay Ho Ward People's Committee and mass organizations have persistently implemented the motto "going every alley, knocking on every door", organizing direct dialogue to listen to people's thoughts. Accordingly, 3 households voluntarily dismantled the project and signed a handover record.
For the remaining 7 cases of non-compliance, on December 10, functional forces deployed coercion in accordance with the legal procedures.




According to Lao Dong's records on January 24, after one year from the start of construction, the Dang Thai Mai road construction project - phase I has revealed its shape. At the construction site, the contractor is mobilizing many machines and personnel to synchronously deploy construction of items, ensuring the set schedule.
The Dang Thai Mai road construction project - phase I when completed is expected to contribute to building the image and identity of Hanoi Capital according to the goal of Green - Civilized - Civilized - Modern based on preserving and promoting heritage values of space, architecture, landscape, culture, history combined with building and developing modern, green and creative urban areas.
