To enter Nghia Do tourist area, people and tourists must travel on National Highway 279 and then turn onto the road leading to the commune.
The road leading to Nghia Do commune is about 3km long, with hundreds of vehicles passing through every day.
In particular, the route also connects to the villages of Nghia Do commune, one of the famous tourist destinations, so the number of vehicles increases during the tourist season.
However, up to now, the road is still in a state of serious degradation, making travel, trade and commerce difficult, and posing a potential risk of traffic accidents.
On November 2, at Nghia Do commune, according to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, traveling on this road is very difficult, the road surface is rocky and bumpy.
Along the road leading to the commune's villages, there are potholes, many sections have eroded to reveal the paving stones, some sections have to be fenced with bamboo, causing a high risk of traffic safety.
Many people are worried because Nghia Do is a key tourist commune but the traffic infrastructure is increasingly degraded, lacking development motivation.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thiep (residing in Ban Don village, Nghia Do commune) shared: "I often travel on this route to transport goods, and I have seen the road damaged like this for a while now. The road surface is bad and narrow, making it very difficult to travel."
According to Mr. Thiep, as a tourist destination, people in the commune really hope that the road leading to the villages will soon be invested in and upgraded to make travel more convenient.
Mr. Bui Viet Nam (a tourist from Hanoi) also said: "Nghia Do Commune is a beautiful tourist area with many advantages for development. Therefore, if we invest in roads, more tourists will come here."
Regarding the reflection on the traffic infrastructure not being commensurate and synchronized with the potential for tourism development, Chairman of Nghia Do Commune People's Committee Ly Van Noi said: "We have also organized meetings to discuss and mobilize people to donate land to open roads. All households agreed and signed the land donation application.
The commune is proposing that Bao Yen district invest in expanding roads to core tourist areas. Currently, the locality is just waiting for the district's policy and capital to proceed with implementation."
Nghia Do commune is more than 30 km from Pho Rang town center, Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province.
This land has a rich culture, in which the Tay ethnic group has a long history of residence, creating unique customs and beliefs.
On September 9, 2021, Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee decided to recognize Nghia Do commune, Bao Yen district as a tourist destination.
This is an opportunity for Nghia Do to preserve and promote its existing potentials, invest in tourism, upgrade and attract the attention of many domestic and foreign tourists.
