On August 5, Khanh Hoa General Hospital said that after 3 months of being raised and treated, the 1.1kg premature baby abandoned in the hospital was adopted by a family.
Previously, on May 21, the baby was taken to the Emergency Department in the 28th week of pregnancy, weighing only 1.1 kg. The child was diagnosed with endometriosis with sepsis - a dangerous condition in premature babies and was actively treated at the Neonatal Resuscitation Department - Pediatrics Department.
After 3 days of treatment, the family suddenly left the child in the hospital. Although he tried to contact them many times but failed, the hospital reported to the local authorities.
During that time, the medical team at Khanh Hoa General Hospital devoted themselves to caring for and calling for support from sources to provide milk, diapers, clothes and necessary items for the baby.
After a period of treatment, the child's health was stable, he weighed 3.3kg and was eligible for discharge. Currently, the Department of Social Work - Khanh Hoa General Hospital in coordination with Nha Trang Ward organized the handover of the baby to Ms. N.T.H and her husband for temporary adoption and carried out further legal procedures.
Ms. H emotionally shared: My wife and I have been married for 15 years and have no children. When we heard that the baby was abandoned, we went to the hospital to adopt him. Having children is a long-standing wish, this is truly fate. We will love and take care of him as best as possible.
At the handover ceremony, MSc. Doan Thi Thuy Loan - Head of the Department of Social Work sent a message: "The baby was born unlucky, it really needs a sustainable home. We hope that his adoptive parents will love him more.
