3 months of "brain leg" to save the life of a 900g premature baby, born on the roadside
On March 21, doctors at Hanoi Children's Hospital shared about a miracle in medicine. The baby fell on the side of the road at just 26 weeks old, traveled 50km to the hospital and recovered and was discharged after nearly 100 days in the hospital.
Previously, in the early morning of December 11, 2024, the Neonatal Department, Hanoi Children's Hospital received baby boy N.A.K. (Ba Vi, Hanoi) in critical condition: shortness of breath, purple, slow pulse, hypothermia.
The patient's family said that the baby fell only 2km from Military Hospital 105, and had to be given an emergency intubation before being urgently transferred to Hanoi Children's Hospital.
Immediately upon admission, the doctors immediately performed intensive resuscitation, mechanical ventilation, use vasopressors and maintained body temperature in the cage.

"The journey to save baby K.'s life lasted 3 months with a series of challenges: prolonged mechanical ventilation, treatment of clogged arteries, infections, neonatal retinopathy and bronchial pneumonia," Hanoi Children's Hospital informed.
With the efforts of the doctors, the baby gradually recovered, switched from high- frequency ventilation to oxygen support and finally was able to breathe completely on its own. The child has now reached 3kg, eats well and sleeps well, and was discharged from the hospital on March 21.
Kera vegetable candy contains sweeteners, not listed on labels, can be dangerous for people with diabetes
According to the test results of Kera vegetable candy samples (of Quang Linh Vlogs, Hang Du Cac, Miss Thuy Tien) conducted by the National Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene testing (Ministry of Health), the product contains Sorbitol - an artificial sweetener with a content of 33.4g/100g. So is this amount of sorbitol worth worrying about?
Dr. Nguyen Hong Vu, PhD in Mobile Biology in Medicine, said: With the amount of sorbitol being 33.4g/100g in KERA vegetable candy, which is about 1g of sorbitol in each candy vien (3.2 g), consuming about 20 candy vien per day can be uncomfortable for some people who are sensitive to sorbitol.
Meanwhile, the manufacturer's product labels or advertisements do not mention this ingredient and do not warn that the maximum daily use is a "production" that cannot be ignored.

Using sorbitol to fight constipation should only be a "temporary" method because if you use sorbitol or any laxative too often, the body can become dependent on them to maintain normal bowel function.
This can lead to chronic constipation or reduce the intestines' natural ability to excrete waste. In addition, its side effects can cause problems with dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, intestinal damage, and reduced bowel movements. See more

Quang Ninh - kidney transplant right at the provincial level
The Quang Ninh health sector is implementing kidney transplants right in the locality. This not only helps patients reduce their financial burden but also opens up many hopes.
In April 2024, Vietnam - Sweden Uong Bi Hospital made an important mark when it took multiple organs from a brain-dead person to donate for the first time to save the lives of 7 other people.
After this event, the Quang Ninh Department of Health selected Quang Ninh General Hospital and Vietnam - Sweden Uong Bi Hospital to perform the organ transplant, initially performing the kidney transplant.
Both hospitals have received professional support from Viet Duc Friendship Hospital in training medical staff, preparing facilities and equipment to meet the requirements of organ transplant surgery. See more
