Nghe An - On the afternoon of August 24, Military Region 4 held a conference to assign tasks to deploy the work of preventing and fighting storm No. 5.

Lieutenant General Ha Tho Binh - Commander of Military Region 4 - chaired the conference.

Accordingly, the Military Region Command has established 3 inspection teams to direct the preparation for storm response and flood circulation in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien - Hue. Units coordinate with local authorities to implement the "4 on-site" motto, ready to evacuate people in dangerous areas to safe places.

The military region directed 116,940 officers and soldiers to participate in the response, including 15,365 standing soldiers, 101,575 militia and self-defense forces; along with 1,213 vehicles of all kinds (635 cars, 31 special vehicles, 547 boats). Agencies and units are required to inspect and reinforce camps, warehouses, and combat works, ensure the safety of weapons and equipment, and absolutely not be passive or surprised.

The Military branches of provinces and cities under the Military Region are assigned the task of coordinating Party committees and authorities to inspect areas at risk of flooding and landslides, support people to build houses, anchor boats, and instruct fishermen to take shelter from storms. At the same time, prepare the tent as a centralized place to live when required, ensuring logistics and techniques in all situations.

Concluding the conference, Lieutenant General Ha Tho Binh requested units to temporarily suspend operations unnecessarily, maintain 100% of their active force, prepare plans to evacuate people from dangerous areas, reserve food - provisions, be ready to overcome the consequences, minimize damage caused by storms and floods.
