Mr. Nguyen Van Tinh (living in Tam Ky ward, Da Nang city) said that after receiving the notice, even though the fishermen's boats were fishing far from shore, they quickly returned earlier to ensure the safety of life and property.

"The 4 crew members and 1 captain here are all in Nui Thanh commune, about 100km from the boat dock. After packing up our belongings and tying up the boat, we are waiting for the bus to pick us up so we can return home early to rest and eat" - Mr. Tinh said.
Going out to sea to fish far from shore, but when he heard that the storm would make landfall, Mr. Do Van Hung (born in 1978, Nui Thanh commune) also reminded everyone to quickly return to shore and tie their boats to be careful.

According to the Central Hydrometeorological Station, at 7:00 a.m. the same day, the center of storm No. 5 (international name Kajiki) was in the northwest sea of Hoang Sa Special Zone, about 600km from Ha Tinh.
The strongest wind near the storm center is level 12, gusting to level 15 and is moving west at a speed of about 20km/h. It is forecasted that from August 24, the wind in the Da Nang sea area will gradually increase to level 6-7, gusting to level 8-9, waves 2-4m high, and rough seas.
From August 24-26, Da Nang City will have showers and thunderstorms, with total rainfall ranging from 40-100mm, some places over 130mm.

Following the direction of the Prime Minister, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City requested the Directors of departments, branches, sectors and Chairmen of the People's Committees of communes and wards to absolutely not be negligent, subjective, and proactively take the highest response measures to ensure the safety of people's lives and property.

The Border Guard Command of Da Nang City said that by the morning of the same day, all boats of the city's fishermen had left the danger zone of storm No. 5 and moved to a safe shelter.
According to statistics, the whole city currently has 4,148 ships/21,000 workers. As of 5:00 a.m. this morning, there were still 258 ships/2,721 workers operating at sea, all of whom had received information, kept in regular contact with the mainland and mobile out of the danger zone. The remaining 3,890 ships have safely anchored in Da Nang and neighboring provinces.
