The sports festival takes place in Northwest Square, with 23 delegations with nearly 600 athletes participating.
In which, 8 wards established 8 teams; 67 communes were organized into 15 teams according to clusters. Each team has grassroots fire prevention and fighting and search and rescue teams, civil defense and "Family safety fire prevention and fighting teams".
Athletes compete in the following events: fire fighting combined with moving assets to prevent fire spread; fire fighting combined with rescuing people from the fire; practicing fire fighting, rescuing people and moving assets for houses combined with production and business.
The "FIRE Prevention and Fighting Safe Family Group" also competed in answering questions on fire prevention and fighting and rescue knowledge.
According to the Organizing Committee, the competitions simulated fire and explosion situations that could occur in reality, requiring participating forces to coordinate quickly and accurately, and handle them right from the time the fire broke out.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Steering Committee - said that the sports festival is an opportunity to assess the skills of handling situations, the coordination capacity of the fire prevention and fighting force at the grassroots level; and at the same time raise awareness and responsibility in fire prevention, fighting and rescue.
At the end of the sports festival, Thao Nguyen Ward People's Committee won the first prize overall. The Organizing Committee awarded the first, second, and third prizes to teams that achieved results in each event.
