On September 23, many communes and wards in Lao Cai province simultaneously organized launching ceremonies and launched the second phase of rural road construction in 2026.
In Luong Thinh commune, Mr. Duong Quoc Huy - Secretary of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee emphasized that with the mountainous and fragmented terrain, rural transport is of essential significance to the people's lives and socio-economic development of Lao Cai.
Invested and upgraded roads will create more convenience for people to travel, transport agricultural products, access essential services and develop production.
Immediately after the launching ceremony, the Secretary of the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee, along with delegates and people of Luong Thinh commune, participated in starting construction and pouring the first concrete meters on the Dong Bang village road, opening the second phase of rural traffic road construction in 2026.
In Viet Hong commune, Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Anh attended the launching ceremony in Viet Cuong 1 village.
In 2026, the commune will deploy 2 4 km long roads, with a total investment of more than 13 billion VND, of which the provincial budget supports 7.344 billion VND.
Notably, the Viet Cuong 1 - Viet Cuong 6 inter-village route is 3.8 km long, the roadbed is 6 m wide, the road surface is 3.5 m, serving nearly 500 households.
This is also a project in response to the 30-day peak period of rural road construction in the province.
In Muong Bo, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province Nguyen The Phuoc and officials and people launched campaigns in Sin Chai and Nam Ngan villages.
The two roads in this phase are 1.3 km long, with a total investment of 3.18 billion VND, of which the People contributed 120 million VND.
Muong Bo has 100% hardened a total of 82.3 km of commune and village roads. However, the locality still has 45.6 km of inter-field roads and alleys that have not been solidified. In the 2026-2030 period, the commune plans to invest in more than 20 routes, about 32.6 km long.
In Bao Nhai, the road from Khoi Bung bridge to Nam Khap Trong village was chosen as the starting point.
The route is 2.35 km long, the roadbed is expanded to 6 m, the concrete surface is 3.5 m, with a cost of 4 billion VND. The State supports more than 3.53 billion VND, people counterpart with working days, materials and site clearance worth more than 467 million VND.
On the same day, the movement took place simultaneously in Ta Cu Ty, Lien Son, Sin Cheng, Cam Nhan, Si Ma Cai, Lam Thuong, Thuong Bang La, Hop Thanh....
For 2 projects from rural transport capital, more than 2.1 km long in Lien Son, the State supported more than 2.8 billion VND, and people contributed over 1.1 billion VND.
Immediately after the launching ceremony, leaders of Lao Cai province, along with officials, armed forces and people, directly went to the construction site to pour concrete, open the foundation, and maintain the road.
The tasks were deployed right on the first day of the peak period, contributing to completing the transportation network serving travel, production, transportation of goods and trade in rural areas.
