Hanoi currently has over 8.2 million people participating in health insurance, an increase of 0.34% compared to the end of the previous month and an increase of 3.23% compared to the same period in 2024.
Hanoi has over 2.2 million people participating in compulsory social insurance (accounting for 47.62% of the workforce of working age), exceeding the plan by 0.12%, increasing by 1.42% and increasing by 8.33%. More than 1.3 million people participated in voluntary social insurance (accounting for 3.54%), exceeding the plan by 0.04%, increasing by 3.96% and increasing by 41.8%.
The number of people participating in unemployment insurance is over 2.2 million people (accounting for 45.09%), exceeding the plan by 0.09%, increasing by 1.33% and increasing by 8.58%.
As of the end of August 2025, the total amount collected from social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance is 50.4 trillion VND, an increase of 17.23% over the same period last year.
Total social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance expenditure is 58.2 trillion VND, an increase of 12.46% over the same period in 2024 (of which monthly pension and social insurance allowance expenditure is 33 trillion VND; health insurance medical examination and treatment expenditure is 19.6 trillion VND).
In 2025, according to the plan, Hanoi City assigned the health insurance coverage rate to 95.5% of the population. The rate of compulsory social insurance (SI) participation accounts for 47.5% of people of working age; the number of people participating in voluntarySI accounts for 3.5%. The number of people participating in Unemployment Insurance (UI) accounts for 45% of the workforce.
