According to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Environment (DONRE) of Tuyen Quang province, as of July 25, the total number of pigs with African swine fever in the area that must be destroyed is 9,864, with a total weight of 544,365 kg. 53/123 communes and wards have announced an epidemic.
According to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the epidemic is still complicated, continuing to spread rapidly, strongly and spread widely.
The characteristics of the virus that causes African swine fever are its ability to survive long in the environment, the transmission line is very complicated and in fact, pig farming in the province has a high chance of the disease continuing to spread to other communes in the province.

Informing reporters, a representative of Tuyen Quang Provincial People's Committee said that in the face of the epidemic spreading rapidly, strongly and widely, the Provincial People's Committee has directed functional agencies and localities to synchronously and drastically deploy solutions to prevent African swine fever.
For communes and wards where there has not been an epidemic, focus on implementing drastic and synchronous measures to prevent and control the epidemic according to regulations. Direct specialized departments, livestock and veterinary staff at the commune level to proactively monitor diseases in livestock for early detection.
Timely warn, handle thoroughly, ensure compliance with regulations when new epidemics are detected on a small scale. Strictly handle cases of not reporting epidemics, selling, slaughtering sick animals, animals suspected of being sick, and throwing animal carcasses into the environment, leading to the spread of the epidemic.
Strengthen the control and strict management of pigs and pig products transported and transited from other places to the management area.
For communes where the epidemic is occurring, it is necessary to urgently control it to prevent the epidemic from spreading widely. Strictly implement the announcement of the epidemic when it meets the conditions for announcing the epidemic within the prescribed scope.

Establish a Commune-level Steering Committee for Disease Prevention, assigning specific tasks to members directly to inspect and monitor the epidemic situation in villages and hamlets to direct and urge the effective implementation of epidemic prevention work, promptly resolving difficulties and problems.
Establish a rapid response team to prevent African swine fever at the commune level, members of the team must stay in the area, strengthen inspection and handling of cases of illegal trading and transportation of pigs and pig products, and dumping pig carcasses and pig products into the environment.
Conduct a review and strictly manage business households and slaughter pigs in the area according to regulations. Continue to do a good job of slaughter control and veterinary hygiene inspection at slaughterhouses.
