On the afternoon of May 21, the Management Board of Can Tho City Construction Investment Project, the investor of the component project in Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway through Can Tho in the area of information, the project has 4 main construction and installation packages and 1 package of construction and installation of traffic safety systems. Currently, the value of construction volume reaches 33.3%.
According to the investor, component project 2 needs 7 million m3 of sand. Of which, An Giang province provided about 2.3-2.4 million m3, starting exploitation from April 11, 2024 and has so far brought to the construction site about 1.355 million m3.
For sand in Tien Giang, the province supplies about 4.55 million m3 to the project. However, according to the investor of component project 2, Can Tho is still asking the province to support the implementation of material exploitation procedures as well as promptly announce the exact price of sand at An Nhon and Hoa Hung 4 mines in Cai Be district; Ngu Hiep 1 mine in Cai Lay district to serve the construction.
In addition, continue to complete the provision of mining licenses for Tan Phong, Tan Phong 1 and Ngu Hiep 2 mines for exploitation in May 2025 to ensure the project implementation progress is met.
At the same time, supporting the supply of sand for the project under the Prime Minister's direction in Notice No. 283 and the meeting on 12.3 at the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tien Giang Province.
The investor of component project 2 also requested An Giang province and the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province to continue to support the process of receiving and returning sand from the mine area to ensure the source of materials for the project through Can Tho.
Component project 2 includes 30 bridges, including 25 bridges on the expressway, 1 Lo Te - Rach Soi intersection bridge over the expressway and 4 approach bridges on the Lo Te - Rach Soi expressway intersection, 49 culverts (4 round culverts, 45 box culverts).
The project has about 1,054 affected cases. The total number of resettlement needs is about 182 plots.
Regarding the progress of the rest stop, on March 28, the site handover was carried out at 100%. The contractor has received the handover of the site and is digging soil that is not suitable for the rest stop area.
The Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Construction Investment Project Phase 1 is 188.2 km long, with a scale of 4 lanes, a total investment of VND 44,691 billion; the progress requires the completion of the entire route in 2026 and the completion of the entire project to be put into synchronous operation in 2027.
The project is divided into 4 component projects: Project 1 by the People's Committee of An Giang Province as the governing body, 57 km long, total investment of 13,526 billion VND; Project 2 was managed by the People's Committee of Can Tho City, 37.4 km long, total investment of VND 9,725 billion; Project 3 was managed by Hau Giang Provincial People's Committee, 36.7 km long, total investment of 9.601 billion VND; Project 4 is managed by the People's Committee of Soc Trang Province, about 58.4 km long, total investment is 11,961 billion VND
