On May 9, Dak Lak Water Supply Joint Stock Company (Dakwaco) confirmed that it had directed technical departments to inspect the water pipeline system of a family (residing in hamlet 6, Hoa Phu commune) to clarify the reason for the unusually high water bill increase.
Previously, Ms. N.T. N. H (resident of hamlet 6, Hoa Phu commune) reflected that her family was confused when they received a water bill calculated from April 7 to May 7 with an amount of nearly 12 million VND, equivalent to about 694m3 of water consumed.
According to the notice, the family must complete payment within 7 days from the date of receipt of the invoice.
In previous months, the family's domestic water bill only fluctuated from 70,000 - 170,000 VND/month.
According to Dakwaco, water leaks or customers forgetting to lock valves causing a sudden increase in water consumption are still common cases. However, the unit has not yet determined the specific cause leading to the abnormal increase in water bills of this household, so it is continuing to inspect and review.
In case the invoice increases due to customer reasons but the family faces financial difficulties, Dakwaco will consider supporting a payment plan in installments instead of paying once.
