On September 10, along with coordinating to overcome the consequences of a serious traffic accident that killed 4 people, the Gia Lai Provincial Department of Construction advised and proposed solutions to ensure safety to limit similar incidents from happening. Especially the management and urging of completing roads that have been basically built but have not been handed over and put into operation.
To avoid the risk of accidents and incidents, and to ensure the safety of people's lives, functional sectors of the province have erected traffic signs and road barriers for the eastern economic corridor (total investment of 1,325 billion VND) and Nguyen Van Linh road (belonging to the Nguyen Van Linh road and residential area project; total investment of 2,100 billion VND).
According to records, these two roads are both key projects of the province, with large investment capital. The road is basically completed, but the lighting system, warning signs, road markings and some other items are still under construction.

Before the road ban, people and vehicles regularly traveled on these two routes because the roads were widely paved with asphalt, conveniently connected to National Highway 19, Ho Chi Minh Road, Pleiku urban area and neighboring communes.
Driver Tran Lanh - residing in Ia Bang commune, Gia Lai - said: "People as well as car companies really want these two roads to be inspected and put into operation soon to serve travel, cargo, and passenger needs. Putting the two roads into circulation will reduce traffic pressure in urban areas, connecting closer to localities.
People also expressed their desire for provincial functional departments to speed up acceptance and handover procedures to put the two roads into operation to avoid the risk of wasting social resources.
As Lao Dong Newspaper reported, at about 3:10 am on August 31, at Km10+600 of the western Pleiku bypass road, in Hoi Phu ward, a traffic accident occurred when a sleeper bus was traveling on an unused road. The bus overturned, killing 4 people and injuring many others.
At the scene of the accident, at the time of the incident, there were 31 passengers, 2 drivers and 1 assistant driver inside the car.
