On August 20, Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee issued a document proposing and recommending that the Central Government consider supplementing the central budget capital plan for the Quy Nhon - Pleiku expressway project with a capital of 6,000 billion VND.
According to the Provincial People's Committee, the capital demand to deploy and accelerate the project progress in 2026 is very large. It is expected that by the end of 2026, the estimated implementation volume will reach 15,435 billion VND. Therefore, the central budget capital allocated with the amount of 9,100 billion VND is still not enough to meet the project implementation needs from now until the end of 2026.
Therefore, Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee has Official Dispatch No. 9054/UBND-KTTH sent to the Ministry of Finance, requesting consideration of supplementing the central budget capital plan.
The province is committed to directing the disbursement of all the above capital, ensuring compliance with the progress and regulations of the Law on Public Investment in case of capital supplementation by the Central Government.
The Quy Nhon - Pleiku expressway project is a key inter-regional project, playing a particularly important role in the socio-economic development strategy, ensuring national defense and security of Gia Lai province in particular and the Central Highlands region, the Central Coast region in general.
The project preparation time, from the time of establishing the investment policy to the commencement according to the Government's requirements, is about 9 months, which is very urgent. At the same time, many expressway projects are being implemented nationwide at the same time, so units participating in the project face many difficulties in mobilizing equipment, survey and design personnel to ensure the required progress.
The Quy Nhon - Pleiku expressway construction investment project has a total length of about 125km, with a total investment of about 43,734 billion VND.
