On May 13, Mr. Luu Trung Nghia - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Gia Lai province - said that the department has reviewed localities where the Quy Nhon - Pleiku expressway passes through, including Mang Yang, Dak Doa, Dak Po and An Khe to integrate into the planning and land use plan.
Up to now, the Provincial People's Committee has planned to allocate a target of 1,800 hectares of land for mineral exploitation and filling to localities.
In addition, the department surveyed 60 fill mines with a total reserve of about 4 million m3 and 38 construction stone mines with about 3 million m3.
This material will serve the Quy Nhon - Pleiku expressway construction project as well as other key projects of the province. The Department has also worked with Project Management Board 2 and has basically met the requirements for mineral materials for construction.
Regarding the expressway project, it is expected that in the coming time, the Prime Minister will submit to the National Assembly for consideration and approval of the pre-feasibility study report of the Quy Nhon - Pleiku expressway construction project.
This is a large-scale project with a lot of work. The Government has also assigned the two provinces of Gia Lai and Binh Dinh to coordinate in implementing compensation and site clearance.
Regarding the merger of provinces, according to the plan, from September 1, 2025, the two provinces of Gia Lai and Binh Dinh will merge into a new province named "Gia Lai".

According to calculations, about 1,972 cadres, civil servants and public employees of Gia Lai province will transfer their work to the provincial center in Binh Dinh. The authorities are developing plans and proposing policies to support travel and living expenses as well as accommodation support for this force.
The People's Committee of Gia Lai province requested relevant units to speed up the preparation of investment procedures, construction and disbursement of public investment capital. At the same time, it is necessary to urgently prepare adequate materials to serve the expressway project connecting quickly between the two localities.
Gia Lai also emphasized the need to carefully review the facilities at the new workplace to ensure the working and living needs of nearly 2,000 transferred staff.
Functional sectors must ensure the operation of public services such as education, healthcare, social security, electricity, water and environmental sanitation are maintained stably, without interruption in the process of arrangement and merger.
