On November 4, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province announced that the Chairman of the province had agreed on a comprehensive plan for arranging and handling public assets in the area, according to the proposal of the Department of Finance.
Currently, the whole province has 5,753 working headquarters and career facilities of agencies, organizations and units under its management. After the arrangement, the total number of surplus houses and land that need to be handled is 892.
According to the proposed plan of the Department of Finance, 62 facilities will be assigned and 168 facilities will be transferred to the People's Committees at the commune level, other agencies and units will continue to manage and use them as headquarters, facilities for career activities or convert them to public purposes such as cultural institutions, sports, and parks. In addition, 47 facilities are assigned to the Provincial Land Fund Development Center for management and handling; 615 facilities are handed over to the People's Committees at the commune level for management and handling according to regulations.
The Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee emphasized: "For assets that have been identified as redundant (houses and land facilities)) after the arrangement, departments, branches and localities need to base on relevant planning to create a reserve asset source, not organize leasing.
In case the surplus assets are degraded and the function of use is not suitable, research and propose to the competent authority to organize an auction to create resources for socio-economic development".
The Department of Construction is assigned to coordinate with departments, branches and localities to urgently review and complete the provincial planning to have a basis for handling the surplus working headquarters and operations of agencies and units in accordance with regulations.
