After the merger, Gia Lai owns a large plateau, 134km of coastline, fertile plains, seaports, railways, roads and an aviation infrastructure system including Phu Cat and Pleiku ports - an advantage that few localities have.
In which, the 2 airports form an important "two-door gateway" position. Phu Cat Port plays the role of a coastal gateway, facilitating flight expansion, welcoming tourists and connecting goods to the seaport. Pleiku Port has become a highland aviation hub, serving passengers, transporting agricultural products, high-value goods and exploiting cultural advantages.
This addition helps Gia Lai strongly develop "forest - sea" tourism, increase logistics capacity, create a proactive position in connection, prevent risks, expand investment space and promote socio-economic growth.
To ensure traffic order and safety and sustainable development of civil aviation, Gia Lai province has directed agencies and units to strengthen aviation security control measures. This helps reduce the risk of unsafe flights, overcome delays and cancellations, and maintain stable security and order at airports.
Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan assigned the Provincial Police to coordinate with functional forces to control the airport area and surrounding areas, and handle aviation obstacles. Resolutely prevent the use of laser lights, kitchens, high-capacity light sources and illegal drone equipment that pose a risk of threatening flight safety.
Deploy preventive measures and combat acts of terrorism, sabotage, and disorder at ports and on ships. Coordinate with representatives of the Airport Authority at the two airports and airlines to strictly handle acts of disturbing order, violating aviation security and safety.
The Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial Military Command to manage the airspace and areas where flights are prohibited and restricted according to regulations; develop a response plan to the situation of drones and super light aircraft illegally intervening in civil aviation activities.
Representatives of the Airport Authority at the two airports strengthen inspection and supervision of compliance with regulations on safety, services, and exploitation of air transportation; strictly handle violations, ensure the rights of passengers.
Phu Cat and Pleiku airports tighten control of flight areas and security fences, promptly prevent wildlife and livestock from entering the flight area.
Together with local authorities, step up propaganda and mobilize people in the airport border area to comply with aviation safety regulations such as not burning straws, not lighting laser lights or large-capacity lights on aircraft, not releasing kites, not using flying equipment (UAVs, flycams, drones) in port areas and neighboring areas.
