On the occasion of attending the 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit and working in China, on the afternoon of September 1, in Tianjin, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
At the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent warm regards to General Secretary To Lam; Politburo member, President Luong Cuong and leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam to President Putin; expressed his gratitude to President Putin for his congratulations on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day on September 2; and thanked Russia for sending a delegation led by the First Vice President of the Russian Federation Council (VBSP) to attend the ceremony and a military delegation to attend the parade to celebrate Vietnam's 80th Anniversary.
The Prime Minister affirmed that these are gestures expressing the sincere affection and respect of the Russian Federation for the just struggle of the Vietnamese people to escape the domination of colonialism.
The Prime Minister emphasized that Vietnam attaches great importance to the traditional friendship and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with the Russian Federation, always considering Russia one of Vietnam's leading important partners.
The two sides expressed their satisfaction with the remarkable developments in bilateral relations in recent times, especially after General Secretary To Lam's official visit to the Russian Federation in May.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh shared that under the close direction of the two countries' senior leaders and the direction of the two Governments, many issues in the Vietnam - Russia bilateral relationship have been resolved, creating new momentum to strongly promote bilateral cooperation in all fields, especially economy, trade, investment, culture, tourism and people-to-people exchanges.
Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed that the two countries should continue to implement the areas of cooperation agreed upon during high-level visits; agreed with the cooperation proposals that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has raised and affirmed that it will promote relevant agencies and Russian enterprises to cooperate with Vietnam.
This is the last activity of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh during his working trip to attend the SCO Summit and work in China.
On the same evening, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation left Tianjin for Hanoi, successfully concluding the working trip.
