Gia Lai - Nearly 1 ton of frozen pork and chicken thighs of unknown origin, showing signs of discoloration, odor, and potential safety risks have been destroyed.

On July 28, the Gia Lai Provincial Market Management Department (QLTT) said that it had coordinated with specialized agencies to destroy 970kg of frozen pork and chicken thighs that did not ensure food safety.

Previously, on July 23, Market Management Team No. 12 (Gia Lai Provincial Market Management Sub-Department) coordinated with the Economic Police Department of the Provincial Police to conduct a surprise inspection of a cold storage of frozen food in the area.

Through inspection, functional forces discovered that the warehouse was storing 970kg of frozen food including pork and chicken thighs.

At the time of inspection, the facility owner could not present invoices and documents proving the legal origin of all goods.

All food also had no labels or information about origin. Through actual inspection, the product showed signs of discoloration, odor, and potential risks affecting consumer health.

Market Management Team No. 12 made a record of administrative violation against the facility owner for the act of trading food of unknown origin. At the same time, they organized the destruction of all 970kg of frozen pork and chicken thighs according to regulations.
