On July 13, Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee sent a report to the Provincial People's Council on the results of crime prevention and combat and law violations in the first 6 months of the year.
Accordingly, in the first 6 months of 2026, the world and regional situation continues to be complicated and unpredictable. Domestically, hostile and reactionary forces and opposing elements thoroughly take advantage of important political events of the country and cyberspace to strengthen propaganda, incitement, and sabotage of the Party and State with increasingly sophisticated and dangerous methods.
In Gia Lai province, FULRO exiles continue to contact, propagate, and direct internal subjects to consolidate forces and restore FULRO and "Dega Good News" activities. In addition, the religious security situation and security related to social issues still contain many potential instability factors.
Regarding crimes infringing on social order, in the first 6 months of the year, there were 481 cases, causing 19 deaths, 175 injuries, and property damage of about 231 billion VND. Compared to the same period in 2025, the number of cases decreased by 12.06%. Functional forces have investigated and solved 365/516 cases, reaching a rate of 70.07%.
In general, the situation of crimes infringing on social order has decreased in the number of cases, but some notable cases have still emerged. Among them, murder crimes occurred in 8 cases in ethnic minority (DTTS) areas, accounting for 26.67%, including 2 cases of killing relatives.
Some cases originate from personal conflicts, subjects use homemade guns to commit crimes. In addition, the situation of groups of teenagers gathering, carrying weapons and weapons to fight to resolve conflicts still occurs, adversely affecting the security and order situation and causing public outrage.
Regarding drug crimes, the Provincial Police discovered 242 cases with 499 subjects committing drug crimes; compared to the same period in 2025, an increase of 56 cases and an increase of 105 subjects. Notably, functional forces discovered and arrested a case of illegal drug trafficking in large quantities, involving many provinces and cities, using express delivery services to commit crimes.
According to the assessment of functional agencies, most young people who violate the law are due to family lax management and education, leaving it to society; the children themselves lack life experience, and have incomplete awareness of the nature, level of danger as well as the consequences caused by their actions.
