Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh (a resident of Lien Chieu ward, Da Nang) - said that after storm No. 13, the price of green vegetables in many traditional markets has increased more than usual.
"Previously, a bunch of vegetables cost about 10,000 VND, but now it ranges from 15,000 - 20,000 VND/bunch. I have also switched to buying vegetables such as squash and eggplant to preserve them longer," said Ms. Minh.
Due to prolonged floods, the impact of storm No. 13 also caused the price of green vegetables at Hoa Cuong market (Da Nang) to increase. According to many traders here, vegetable growing areas in Hoa Tien commune and neighboring areas have been flooded and almost completely damaged, causing a scarce source of goods to traditional markets in the area.
Ms. Tran Thi Minh (name of the character requested to be changed, traders at Hoa Cuong market) - informed that after storm No. 13, the price of green vegetables was affected, the import price of traders also increased by about 5-10% compared to normal.
According to Ms. Minh, many types of tubers and fruits have increased by an average of about 10,000 VND/kg; Vegetables have increased by 5,000-10,000 VND/fruit, so traders also have to sell at a slightly higher price.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade recently issued a document directing the Departments of Industry and Trade of provinces and cities to proactively reserve goods, ensure adequate supply of essential goods and serve the work of overcoming storms and floods.
At the same time, the Ministry of Industry and Trade requires market management forces to monitor and coordinate with businesses to commit to continuous supply, keep prices stable, and avoid scarcity.
The Market Management Department of Da Nang City - said that the unit is strengthening inspection and supervision of business activities, especially at traditional markets, supermarkets and convenience stores, to prevent speculation, hoarding, and unreasonable price increases during and after storms.
The authorities also monitor the price movements of essential goods such as rice, instant noodles, eggs, meat, vegetables, fruits, bottled water, etc. to promptly handle violations, contributing to stabilizing the market.
