On January 14, a working delegation of the Ministry of Construction led by Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister Tran Hong Minh, inspected and urged the construction progress of the Dong Dang (Lang Son) - Tra Linh (Cao Bang) expressway investment project.
The delegation also included Vice Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee Hoang Van Thach, along with leaders of some departments, branches and representatives of Deo Ca Group.
At the project, the working delegation inspected the actual construction points along the route from Km0+00 (Hoang Van Thu commune, Lang Son) to Km93+350 (Hanh Phuc commune, Cao Bang), focusing on key locations such as Ky Cung river overpass, Bang river overpass, IC04 intersection (Km61+700), excavation sections through rocky mountainous areas, complex terrain, along with That Khe and Dong Khe tunnels.

According to reports, despite being affected by harsh weather, complex geology and large construction volume in the two phases of the project, contractors still maintained an urgent construction schedule.
To date, the volume of foundation excavation reached 23.57 million m3 (98.21%); foundation filling reached 10.56 million m3 (nearly 89%); completing 20km of crushed stone leveling and 16km of asphalt concrete paving. The output value reached about 7,200/11,476 billion VND, equivalent to 63% of the contract value.
The project aims to complete the asphalt concrete pavement of the entire route and install traffic safety systems in September, aiming to complete phase 1 in 2026.
However, the project is still facing difficulties in terms of capital allocated for both phases, as well as the shortage of skilled workers and highly specialized engineers.
Cao Bang province proposed that the Ministry of Construction report to the Prime Minister to consider supplementing the remaining capital source, creating conditions for the project to continue to be implemented on schedule, ensuring investment efficiency.
At the construction site, Minister Tran Hong Minh acknowledged and praised the efforts of the investor, project enterprises and contractors; and expressed his pleasure that the project has reached the phase 1 route opening milestone.
The Minister requested units to continue to focus resources, increase labor productivity; develop detailed progress plans by week, month, and quarter to serve as a basis for monitoring and supervision.

Along with that, it is necessary to pay special attention to the quality of works, labor safety and environmental protection, especially at complex items such as large bridges, tunnels, deep digging sections, high embankments and areas at risk of karst caves.
The Minister also requested Cao Bang province to continue to mobilize the involvement of the entire political system, create favorable conditions for phase 1 construction, strive to open to traffic, and put the project into operation this year.
At the same time, the Minister also requested to accelerate the site clearance phase 2, ensuring the legitimate rights of the people.
On this occasion, the Minister of Construction presented gifts and encouraged engineers and workers working on the construction site, wishing the units to continue to maintain the "3 shifts, 4 crews" construction spirit, working through holidays and Tet, contributing to promoting socio-economic development in the region.
