Quang Binh province has a direction to reorganize district and commune-level administrative units in the 2026-2030 period. The province plans to reorganize 18 commune-level administrative units into 9 units.
In the 2023-2025 period, there are 3 administrative units that need to be rearranged and have developed plans, but have not been rearranged because the results of the voter consultation did not reach the required rate and must be rearranged in the 2026-2030 period according to regulations (Son Loc, Quang Tan, Quang Thuy communes).
On January 17, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Quang Binh, Tran The Vuong, said that the fact that the voter turnout had not reached over 50% made it impossible for these three localities to make arrangements.
The Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Quang Binh added that the 3 units that failed to make arrangements in the past have learned from their experiences and overcome their limitations.
To learn from experience, the province has directed that it is necessary to implement early, propagate and mobilize each organization, individual, especially the people since the rearrangement policy was issued. Through the survey, people are mainly concerned about the conversion of administrative procedures and documents after the rearrangement.
Local authorities and Party committees play an important role in the reorganization process. To thoroughly resolve the issue, Quang Binh province has directed local units to establish groups and teams to go to each hamlet and family to clearly explain the importance of the reorganization.
It is necessary to make it clear to the people that the local government always creates favorable conditions for the people in the process of changing administrative procedures.
