On the afternoon of May 14, Major General Nguyen Thanh Tung - Director of Hanoi City Police - visited Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Le Cuong, Deputy Head of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (PCCC&CNCH), who was injured while on fire duty.
In order to promptly encourage injured officers while performing their duties, on behalf of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of Hanoi City Police, Major General Nguyen Thanh Tung kindly visited and encouraged Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Le Cuong to feel secure in treatment and recover his health soon to return to work.

Major General Nguyen Thanh Tung praised the brave spirit and responsibility of "forgetting oneself for the people", not afraid of danger, "going into the sea of fire" to do the rescue and fire fighting task of Lieutenant Colonel Cuong. On this occasion, he also presented a Certificate of Merit to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Le Cuong for his outstanding achievements in ensuring security, order and fire safety and rescue while directing functional units to urgently investigate the cause of the fire and strictly handle violations related to fire safety conditions at the facility.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Le Cuong was moved by the affection and care of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of Hanoi City Police and said that this was a great source of encouragement for him to quickly recover, return to the unit, continue the task of preventing and fighting the "fire".
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, at around 4:59 p.m. on May 13, 2025, a major fire broke out in the warehouse area, factory at 860 Phuc Dien, Tay Mo Ward, Nam Tu Liem District.
Upon receiving the report, the Hanoi City Police Command Information Center mobilized many units to the scene, including: Nam Tu Liem Fire Prevention and Rescue Team, Bac Tu Liem, Cau Giay, Hoai Duc, Fire Prevention and Rescue Team Region 2 with 3 excavators and about 80 officers and soldiers to participate in fire fighting and rescue.
Leaders of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, Deputy Heads of the Department, officers and soldiers of professional teams were present at the scene to direct fire fighting and rescue.

At about 5:40 p.m. the same day, the fire was controlled, prevented from spreading to surrounding warehouses, and was completely extinguished by 7:00 p.m.
In the process of participating in fire fighting, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Le Cuong directly managed the rescue and rescue work. Due to the heat from the fire breaking the glass, the debris hit the left shoulder causing comrades to be injured. However, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Cuong continued to command the force until the fire was basically controlled.
