According to Ha Tinh Provincial Police, on August 11, Mr. Phan Khac Thanh (born 1963, residing in My Lam village, Cam Due commune, Ha Tinh province) voluntarily handed over a golden mountain turtle, weighing about 2 kg to Cam Due Commune Police.
Specialized agencies determined that the individual turtle submitted was a golden mountain turtle belonging to group IIB. This is an species that needs to be managed and protected according to the provisions of law.
Immediately after receiving it, Cam Due Commune Police coordinated with Forest Protection Team No. 1 - Ke Go Nature Reserve Management Board to carry out procedures according to regulations to release it back to its natural environment.
