Sending motorbikes around the Cathedral on Christmas Eve, people were asked to pay 50,000 VND

On the evening of December 24, Hoan Kiem Lake area, the old quarter and especially around Hanoi Cathedral were crowded with people and tourists flocking to have fun and celebrate Christmas.

Due to the sudden increase in the number of people and the high demand for parking, many high-priced parking lots have appeared along the streets around the Cathedral.

According to the reporter's records at 7:00 p.m., at a parking lot on Bao Khanh Street, the price for motorbikes is collected at 30,000 VND/trip. On Nha Tho Street, another parking lot collected a fee of 20,000 VND but quickly ran out of space due to the high number of people who wanted to park their vehicles.

Notably, on Hang Trong Street, the reporter also recorded a spontaneous car parking lot that collected up to 50,000 VND/motorbike.

At this parking lot, the reporter noted that there was no price list or car owner information. The car park also does not provide paper bus tickets or bus cards to reporters.

Many people said that although they had expected the price of tank parking during the holiday, they were still surprised when they had to pay up to 50,000 VND for one motorbike parking. However, due to the need to have fun and not having many options, many people have to accept it.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Anh (Nam Dinh) shared that he had to go around many streets to find a place to park his car. "I know that the price will be high on holidays, but there is no other place, so I have to park my car to make it convenient to go out," Mr. Duc Anh shared.

Like Mr. Duc Anh, even though she went out for Christmas early, Ms. Anh Phuong (Hanoi) had a hard time finding a place to park, the parking lots far from the church were cheaper but had to walk a long distance.
