Ha Nam issues second alert on Day River

On September 22, the authorities of Ha Nam province issued an urgent dispatch on issuing a second warning on the Day River and proactively responding to floods.

Due to the impact of heavy rain in Ha Nam province on the night of September 21 and on September 22, 2024, the water level on the Day River at Phu Ly measured at 1:00 p.m. on September 22, 2024 was 3.65 m, 0.15 m above alarm level II (according to Decision No. 05/2020/QD-TTG dated October 31, 2020 of the Prime Minister, the alarm level I on the Day River at Phu Ly hydrological station is 3.50).

On September 22, the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue (PCTT&TKCN) of Ha Nam province issued a second alert on the Day River and requested the PCTT&TKCN Steering Committees of Kim Bang, Thanh Liem districts and Phu Ly city to implement the following contents:

Carry out patrolling and guarding to protect dikes according to the alarm level in accordance with the instructions in Circular No. 01/2009/TT-BNN dated January 6, 2009 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development guiding patrolling and guarding to protect dikes during the flood season.

Regularly check and be ready to deploy dike protection plans, culverts under the dike, embankments to protect the banks and key weak dike points.

Closely monitor water level developments on the river and proactively implement plans to evacuate people living in riverbank areas, ensuring safety of people and property.

Organize a serious on-duty team, closely monitor the developments of rain and floods to be ready to handle situations from the first hour; promptly inform and report to the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of Ha Nam province.
