Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee has just signed and issued Decision No. 2330/QD-UBND (May 5, 2026) approving the investment project to build an overpass at the intersection of Le Trong Tan street (Ha Dong) with National Highway 6. The project has a total investment of more than 821 billion VND, aiming to gradually overcome traffic congestion and complete infrastructure in the southwest gateway area of the Capital.
According to the decision, the project is implemented in Kien Hung, Ha Dong and Duong Noi wards. The Hanoi City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board is the investor.
The project aims to build a direct overpass, resolving traffic conflicts at the important intersection between Le Trong Tan - Van Khe road and National Highway 6. The investment in construction of the project is expected to contribute to reducing the waiting time of vehicles, limiting congestion, reducing urban environmental pollution; and at the same time gradually completing the traffic infrastructure system according to planning, serving socio-economic development and ensuring traffic order and safety in the area.
According to the design, the overpass has a scale of 4 lanes in the direction of Le Trong Tan - Van Khe. The total length of the bridge and approach road is about 1,000m, of which the main bridge section is about 668m long. The cross-section of the bridge is 16m wide, arranged with a median strip and safety strip. Along with that, the project includes items to reorganize traffic, adjust sidewalks, median strips, install traffic light systems, green trees and relocate related technical infrastructure works.
The total investment of the project is 821.622 billion VND from the Hanoi City budget; of which construction costs account for more than 634 billion VND. The expected implementation time is from 2026 to 2028.
Hanoi City People's Committee requests the investor to closely coordinate with consulting units to ensure the accuracy of survey data and design plans; and be responsible before the law for the quality of the project. The project continues to apply the project information model (BIM) in the implementation process to improve the efficiency of management, operation and maintenance after completion.
Request relevant departments and sectors assigned to coordinate in organizing implementation, strengthen quality management, investment supervision, and ensure traffic safety and labor safety throughout the construction process.
The project implementation is assessed as a specific step in implementing the capital's transport development plan to 2030, with a vision to 2050, contributing to building a synchronous and modern infrastructure system.
