Functional forces have erected barriers and cleared spontaneous parking spots in the Van Khe station area on the Cat Linh - Ha Dong urban railway line.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reflected the situation that many areas at the foot of the Cat Linh - Ha Dong stations were encroached upon as parking lots, posing a potential risk of unsafety, especially the risk of prolonged fire and explosion.

In the Van Khe station base area (Kien Hung ward, Hanoi), a series of parking lots for cars and motorbikes operate spontaneously at the foot of the station. Most of these points do not ensure fire prevention and fighting conditions; many old vehicles are left outdoors in rain and sun, increasing the risk of fire and explosion.
Van Khe station area is adjacent to 3 wards: Yen Nghia, Kien Hung and Duong Noi. Taking advantage of this location, some households on both sides of the road have organized illegal vehicle parking.

Faced with the situation of vehicles being parked rampant under the station overpass, posing a potential risk of fire and explosion safety, affecting security and order, traffic safety and urban aesthetics, the Hanoi Traffic Management and Operation Center has requested Hanoi Railway Company Limited (Hanoi Metro) to coordinate with localities and functional agencies to inspect, review and develop a plan to clear all garbage dumps, eateries, and spontaneous parking spots around the 2A line stations.

The commander of Yen Nghia Ward Police said that in addition to propagating and mobilizing people to comply with regulations, the ward police force regularly patrols and strictly handles violations. Currently, vehicles parked in violation of regulations in the area under the Cat Linh - Ha Dong station line have been handled, basically ending the violation situation.
Recorded at Van Khe station, the entire area under the station stairs has been barricaded, there is no longer a situation of vehicles parking indiscriminately; people's travel has become more open, convenient and safe.
However, some households have moved vehicles to areas inside or inside houses to continue parking. The dense arrangement of vehicles still poses a risk of unsafety, especially fire and explosion.

According to Mr. Le Tran Hai (in Chuong My ward, Hanoi City), barricading and preventing vehicles from parking at the foot of the station to ensure fire and explosion safety is necessary. However, the government needs to soon arrange legal and safe parking points to serve the needs of the people.
Every day I park my car here to take the subway to the inner city to work, which is both cost-saving and avoids congestion and pollution. If parking lots are removed without a replacement plan, people will face difficulties. The government needs to soon organize suitable parking spots," Mr. Hai shared.

Faced with the increasing demand for parking to use public passenger transport, people believe that besides handling spontaneous parking spots, Hanoi City needs to soon plan and arrange legal parking spots, ensuring safety standards, especially fire prevention and fighting.

The synchronous deployment of suitable parking lots not only facilitates people's access to public transport, but also contributes to improving the operation efficiency of the urban railway line, reducing traffic pressure and ensuring urban order and aesthetics.
