From July 1, Hanoi officially adjusted the operating routes of 4 bus routes including 04, 23, 31 and 146 to serve the pilot low-emission zone (LEZ) in Ring Road 1.
The adjustment is applied from 7 pm on Friday to 12 pm on Sunday every week, synchronously with the traffic diversion plan, contributing to limiting vehicle emissions in the central area, while ensuring people's travel needs.
According to Mr. Thai Ho Phuong - Director of the Hanoi City Traffic Management and Operation Center, this is a step of adjustment in the organization and operation of the bus network to suit the low-emission zone pilot plan.
Also according to Mr. Phuong, relevant units have been requested to update new routes on the GPS journey monitoring system and the BusMap application to promptly provide information to passengers.
The adjustment of 4 bus routes is expected to improve the service capacity of the public passenger transport system, encourage people to use buses when traveling in the pilot area, thereby contributing to reducing traffic congestion and improving the air quality in the inner city area.
Bus route No. 04 (Long Bien - Central Endocrinology Hospital, facility 2) is adjusted according to the route: Long Bien - Yen Phu - Tran Nhat Duat - Tran Quang Khai - Tran Hung Dao - Lo Duc - Kim Nguu - Tam Trinh - Linh Nam - Phap Van - Ngoc Hoi and vice versa. The average distance of the route is about 17.95km.
Bus route No. 23 (Nguyen Cong Tru - Nguyen Cong Tru) is reorganized through central streets such as Pho Hue, Dai Co Viet, Giai Phong, Tay Son, Kim Ma, Nguyen Thai Hoc, Phung Hung, Phan Dinh Phung, Tran Nhat Duat, Tran Quang Khai, Tran Hung Dao before returning to the starting point. The average distance of the route is about 17.65km.
For bus route No. 31 (University of Science and Technology - Chem), the new route passes through Le Thanh Nghi, Dai Co Viet, Pho Hue, Tran Hung Dao, Tran Nhat Duat routes, Long Bien, Yen Phu, Au Co, An Duong Vuong, Dong Ngac, Thuy Phuong, Duc Thang transfer points to Chem (Miner University) and vice versa. The average distance of the route is about 20.4km.
Bus route No. 146 (Hao Nam - Phu Dong) is adjusted in the direction of Hao Nam - Kim Ma - Nguyen Thai Hoc - Tran Hung Dao - Tran Nhat Duat - Chuong Duong bridge - Nguyen Van Cu - Ngo Gia Tu - Duong bridge - Phu Dong. In the return direction, go on the opposite route through Chuong Duong bridge - Trang Tien - Hai Ba Trung - Dien Bien Phu - Kim Ma - Giang Vo. The average distance of the route is about 26.2km.
At the request of functional agencies, Hanoi Transport Corporation and Hanoi Passenger Car Joint Stock Company will organize exploitation in accordance with the approved plan, and at the same time monitor passenger traffic, assess operational efficiency to promptly propose adjustments during the implementation process.
