Hanoi City People's Committee has just issued Decision No. 2401/QD-UBND on "Overall project on IoT application in key areas of Hanoi City".
According to the decision signed and promulgated by Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Dai Thang, Hanoi sets a target to deploy IoT applications in many fields by 2030 such as security and order, traffic, environment, health, electricity...
IoT is a system connecting smart devices and sensors via the internet to automatically collect, exchange data and perform tasks without direct human intervention.
According to the project, 100% of new IoT systems invested from the city budget or using data for state management must comply with architecture, standards, integration mechanisms and common data regulations.
At the same time, all IoT data within the project scope will be associated with identification, metadata description and managed according to a common list; gradually standardized according to a common data dictionary and integrated into data domains serving digital management.
Hanoi aims to successfully deploy at least 5 key IoT application groups that have a clear impact on operation and service to the people.
Priority areas include: security and order and traffic; environment, flooding, dykes and natural disasters; medical and extrahospital emergency care; energy, electricity and technical infrastructure; agriculture, environment and field monitoring.
After 2030, Hanoi aims to expand the application of IoT throughout the city according to a unified model; increase the rate of data collected automatically in real time; deeply connect IoT data with specialized databases, national databases and digital platforms of the city.
The city also orients strong development of analytical, warning, and forecasting applications to create a foundation for smart city models, digital government, digital economy, and digital society.
To implement the project, Hanoi will prioritize investing in common platforms, shared data and major problems; and at the same time review and consolidate the apparatus, strengthen training, and attract high-quality human resources in the fields of digital technology, data, IoT, information security and data analysis.
