Faced with the prolonged heavy rain causing historic floods in many Central and Central Highlands provinces, Hanoi has developed a plan to support affected localities.

In recent days, the Central region has witnessed widespread heavy rain. Floods on rivers from Quang Tri to Khanh Hoa all exceeded alert level 2 to alert level 3; many places exceeded alert level 3. In particular, some rivers in Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, Gia Lai recorded floods exceeding the historical level for many years.

Faced with this serious development, the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee has issued a document directing the Party Committee of the City People's Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City to immediately deploy support tasks.

Reviewing damage and proposing support plans before 9:00 a.m. on November 24

The City Party Committee assigned the City People's Committee to direct competent agencies to coordinate with Gia Lai province to review, synthesize damage data and propose support plans. The content includes necessities, housing for poor households, near-poor households affected, infrastructure works, reproduction...

On that basis, the units reported and proposed the Plan of the Hanoi Party Committee to support the people of the Central provinces to overcome the consequences of floods. The plan must clearly state the quantity, subjects, support content, responsible agencies, implementation progress, funding and specific roadmap. Report to the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee before 9:00 a.m. on November 24, 2025 (Monday).

The Hanoi Party Committee also assigned the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City to launch a call to cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers, armed forces, the business community, organizations, units and people of the capital, as well as overseas Vietnamese to join hands to support people in flooded areas.

The appeal emphasizes the spirit of "Hanoi for the whole country, with the whole country", the tradition of "mutual love", "the healthy leaves cover the torn leaves", in order to mobilize resources to share with the people of the Central provinces who are suffering heavy losses.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee is also assigned to coordinate with the City People's Committee Party Committee to develop a comprehensive plan of the City Party Committee on supporting the people of the Central and Central Highlands to overcome the consequences of floods.
