Regarding agriculture, floods and rains destroyed more than 15,300 hectares of rice and crops; nearly 50,000 livestock and poultry died and were swept away.
The traffic system was severely cut off with 26 locations on national highways and 180 locations on provincial and inter-commune roads flooded and landslides causing congestion. The railway industry must continue to stop 8 passenger trains passing through the Central region on November 21. The bright spot is Tuy Hoa Airport, which resumed operations from 12 noon on the same day.
493,252 households are still without power, mainly concentrated in Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa and Gia Lai. Faced with the particularly serious damage situation, on November 21, the Politburo issued Notice No. 99-TB/TW directing the work to overcome the consequences of rain and floods.
On the same day, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 2549/QD-TTg to provide emergency support of VND700 billion to 4 most severely damaged provinces, including: Khanh Hoa (200 billion), Lam Dong (200 billion), Gia Lai (150 billion) and Dak Lak (150 billion).
The Government has also established 3 working groups led by Deputy Prime Ministers, directly visiting flood-prone localities in Dak Lak, Lam Dong and Gia Lai to direct response and overcoming consequences.
According to the forecast, from the evening of November 21 to November 23, heavy rain will continue to fall on provinces from Quang Ngai to Khanh Hoa, the Central Highlands region with common rainfall of 40-80mm, some places over 150mm.
Floods on rivers are still complicated. In particular, floods on the Krong Ana River (Dak Lak) are forecast to continue to rise slowly and peak at a very high level, above alert level 3 from 2.55-2.6m in the next 12 hours, causing the risk of deep and widespread flooding in low-lying areas along the river.
