Speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan - Chairman of the Nguyen Luong Bang Commune Trade Union - said that after the working session between the trade union and the local government and Ya Wan Hong Industrial Company (HK) Limited, the situation at the enterprise has temporarily stabilized.
"Since this morning, workers have returned to normal work. The company has also issued an official notice and basically agreed with the recommendations of the employees" - Mr. Tuan informed.
Ya Wan Hong Industrial (HK) Limited has about 350 workers. From the beginning of 2025, the work at the company will be stable, with regular overtime. However, recently, due to low orders, the company has allowed workers to take turns to work, receiving 70% of the basic salary. On October 7, about 160 workers stopped working upset because the company gave them a day off without prior notice.
"The company has a policy of giving 5-7 people a temporary leave, but the workers do not agree because they have not been clearly explained" - said the representative of the Nguyen Luong Bang Commune Union.
Not to mention, employees are also upset when the company pays late, in recent months, many workers have worked but have not signed labor contracts. Therefore, in this morning's working session, the Commune Union also requested the enterprise to comply with the regulations on wages, labor contracts, and notify the production plan to employees.
Through the understanding from the employee, most workers do not want to quit their jobs but want to continue to work because the basic salary at the company is 6 million VND/month, much higher than the general level in the area (more than 4 million VND/month).
This afternoon (October 8), the Hai Phong City Labor Federation and the Commune Labor Union continued to work with enterprises to grasp the production and business situation, guide the company to comply with legal regulations as well as closely follow and stabilize the ideological situation of employees, limit kichcation and exploitation leading to disorder.
Previously, as Lao Dong reported, on the morning of October 7, a part of the workers of Ya Wan Hong Industrial (HK) Limited stopped working collectively. The reason comes from the fact that many people have not signed labor contracts after many years of employment, taking turns on leave to receive 70% of the basic salary but have not been notified by the company in advance.
In addition to the above reason, workers are also upset because their salaries have been delayed many times, and some items have been cut in violation of regulations. It is worth mentioning that many workers have worked for a long time but have not yet signed labor contracts. During the day, Ya Wan Hong Industrial (HK) Limited had an official announcement in response to the employee's proposal.
Accordingly, based on the production situation, the team leaders will flexibly arrange for some workers to take turns on a temporary leave. Employees with annual leave will be deducted according to the number of days off, employees who have used up their leave will receive allowances according to the provisions of the labor law.
The company is committed to not laying off employees unreasonably and will notify the time to return to work when the production plan is stable. The salary will be paid on the 15th of each month; the allowances will still be paid according to regulations.
On the workers' side, many people also confirmed that they have returned to normal work since the morning of October 8, the situation in the factory is stable, and production lines have resumed operations as before.
