In the night of April 14 alone, 2 serious traffic accidents occurred in Hanoi City, causing many injuries and property damage. Notably, both drivers of the car were found to have violated alcohol concentration.
Honda CR-V driver crashes into pawnshop with "high" alcohol level
According to reporters' records, at about 11 pm on April 14, a man driving a Honda CR-V car, license plate 30L-016. XX, was traveling from Vu Pham Ham street to Lang street. When arriving in front of house number 890 Lang street (Lang Thuong ward), the car suddenly lost control and crashed straight into a pawnshop.
At the scene, the strong collision caused the door of the store to collapse, heavily damaged; the front of the car was deformed. Fortunately, the incident happened late at night, so there were no casualties.

Immediately after receiving the report, functional forces of Road Traffic Police Team No. 3 (Traffic Police Department, Hanoi City Police) were present, protected the scene and regulated traffic. Through alcohol concentration testing, the police determined that the male driver violated at 0.441 mg/L of breath.
This is the violation level exceeding the highest threshold (0.4 mg/L) according to the provisions of Decree 100/2019/ND-CP, amended and supplemented by Decree 123/2021/ND-CP. With this violation level, drivers will face the highest penalty frame.
Mercedes car causes chain collision in urban area
Previously, at about 7:30 pm on the same day, another chain accident occurred in Vinh Tuy ward. A Mercedes GLK 250 car, license plate 30K-366. XX, driven by driver L.T. K, collided with a motorbike with license plate 29AN-021. XX traveling in the same direction.
According to research, after the initial collision, driver K did not stop but continued to drive the vehicle forward, hitting a motorbike with license plate 29D2-333. XX driven by Mr. N.T. H, carrying his wife, Ms. T.T. V. A.

The incident caused Ms. A to be seriously injured and taken to the emergency room in critical condition.
Road Traffic Police Team No. 4 in coordination with Vinh Tuy Ward Police organized a scene examination on the same night. The inspection results showed that driver L.T. K violated the alcohol concentration at 0.212 mg/L of breath.
Functional agencies are continuing to investigate and clarify the cause of the incident for handling according to the provisions of law.
