At the conference, the Hanoi Capital Command announced the decision to establish the City Military Service Council consisting of 19 people; Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh is the Chairman of the Council.
Major General Dao Van Nhan - Commander of the Hanoi Capital Command, Vice Chairman of the City Military Service Council - said: This year, the selection and calling of citizens to join the army and perform the service of the People's Public Security in 2026 has a new point, the first year of implementing the 2-level local government model, no longer at the district level.
Therefore, the assignment of the Commune-level Military Council to carry out the entire preliminary selection process, then the city-level recruitment exam was held at 21 examination points and the military service was carried out in 8 areas.
To ensure quality and proper selection, Major General Dao Van Nhan suggested that from now on, the Military Commands of communes and wards coordinate to implement, review, and grasp the source of citizens of military age, especially those who have graduated from universities and colleges.
At the conference, representatives of the communes and wards: Hong Ha, Son Tay, Noi Bai, Bat Trang, Tuong Mai and the City Police, Department of Health discussed related issues, forecasted arising issues, problems... and were immediately responded to by the City Military Service Council.
Concluding the conference, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Hong Son assessed that this selection process to call up citizens for military service, many new commune-level leaders and officials will take on the position of Chairman of the Military Service Council for the first time, while the management of aging citizens in Hanoi is more difficult than in other localities, due to the nature of learning and working conditions...
Therefore, the Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Hong Son requested departments, functional branches and communes and wards to step up propaganda of the Law on Military Service, the Law on the People's Public Security; guiding and directing documents on military recruitment work. The propaganda must be substantial and in-depth so that every citizen of military age can voluntarily fulfill his obligations.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee also requested agencies from the city to establish good vocational training and introduce jobs to demobilized soldiers.
Emphasizing that Hanoi has the Capital Law with specific policies, Mr. Le Hong Son suggested that the Hanoi Capital Command advise the City People's Committee to submit to the City People's Council to issue a resolution on policies for demobilized soldiers, expand training in occupations, and the spending level may be higher than the Law on Military Service, in order to serve the national defense strategy.
