The project to build Provincial Road 70 was approved by the Hanoi People's Committee in March 2024. The project has a total investment of more than VND 3,377 billion, with the People's Committee of Tay Mo Ward as the investor.
The expanded section is about 4.95km long, section 1 from Trinh Van Bo Street to Nga Bridge is 3.25km long, with a cross-section of 50m; section 2 from Thang Long Avenue to Ngo Thi Nham Street is about 1.7km long, with a cross-section of 40m.
The total area of recovered land for the project is 229,319 sixm2, of which Xuan Phuong ward is about 140,885.3m2 (accounting for 61.4%); Son Dong commune is 19,554.7m2 (accounting for 8.6%); Tay Mo ward is 68,879.6m2 (accounting for 30%).

According to the representative of the Tay Mo Ward Infrastructure - Investment Project Management Board (representative of the investor), the project is implementing 3 construction packages and 1 survey consulting package, developing construction drawings for moving floating underground works.
The current difficulties and problems of the project are mainly related to compensation, support, and resettlement for site clearance.
Currently, the Board is carrying out the work of assigning land, not having a plan to arrange resettlement land fund, not yet relocating floating underground technical infrastructure works, leading to impacts on the progress of package No. 29 (construction of works and ensuring traffic safety from Trinh Van Bo Street to the railway overpass) and part of package No. 30 (construction of works and ensuring traffic safety from the railway overpass to Nga Bridge).

There are other problems affecting the project's progress such as temporary tents, means of property, and violating items on the road surface and sidewalks that have been constructed by the Investment Project to build part of Road 70 (from Nga Bridge to the end of the International Education Village project) and the road around the International Education Village in Xuan Phuong Ward, which have not yet been relocated.
In the coming time, the People's Committee of Tay Mo Ward will work with the People's Committees of Xuan Phuong and Son Dong Wards to review and determine the resettlement needs and land funds for resettlement under the project, thereby serving as a basis for synthesizing reports to the City People's Committee and departments and branches according to regulations.

Vice Chairman of Tay Mo Ward People's Committee Nguyen Tien Hung emphasized that site clearance work will be implemented publicly and transparently. All policies and prices will be clearly listed. The ward government will apply all mechanisms and policies according to the provisions of law to ensure the best and most beneficial rights for the people.
At the same time, the locality will closely coordinate with units to prepare the best resettlement plans, ensuring synchronous infrastructure, so that people can soon stabilize their lives.
Regarding the proposal for compensation for resettlement by land, Mr. Nguyen Tien Hung said that the ward will consider comprehensively to ensure maximum benefits for households subject to site clearance that are eligible for resettlement by land.
"The Ward People's Committee will maintain a regular, direct dialogue mechanism. We will handle each specific case, not avoid it, in the spirit of openness and the rule of law. All problems of the people will be answered and resolved thoroughly" - Mr. Nguyen Tien Hung said.
The People's Committee of Tay Mo Ward is committed to implementing on schedule and urgently removing all obstacles to ensure the project will be completed within the next 3 years.
