Da Nang - At noon on August 26, two workers dredging sewers at the intersection of Nguyen Thuc Duong - Nguyen Duy Trinh streets were trapped in a hole about 8m deep and died.

At 12:10 on August 26, the Da Nang City Police Command Information Center received a report that 2 workers dredging sewers were trapped and died under the sewers at the intersection of Nguyen Thuc Duong and Nguyen Duy Trinh streets.

The Command Center has mobilized the Fire Prevention and Rescue Team (PCCC&CNCH) of Region 3, the Rescue Working Team (CNCH) with 2 specialized rescue vehicles and 1 fire truck.

As soon as they arrived at the scene, the rescue commander conducted a reconnaissance on the incident and determined that the two victims were trapped in a culvert about 8m deep and had died.

After that, the Rescue Command deployed a rescue team under the deep hole. About 10 minutes later, the rescue force brought the two victims up and handed them over to the authorities.

Previously, at around 11:50 a.m. on August 26, Mr. Huynh Van D (born in 1976) went to deliver the station to Mr. Pham Ngoc S (at 225 Nguyen Duy Trinh, Ngu Hanh Son Ward). Mr. D saw the manhole on Nguyen Thuc Duong Street (next to Mr. S's house) being opened, when he looked down at the manhole, he discovered 2 men lying motionless at the bottom, unable to answer, so he reported it to the police.

The Fire Prevention and Rescue Team then arrived and brought the 2 people under the sewers up, and determined that they had died.

The victims' identities include P.V.L (born in 1983, residing at 24 Ho Ngoc Lam, Tho Quang) and L.V.C (residence information unknown).

The initial cause of death was determined to be suffocation.

Through collecting information and documents: The two victims were directly contacted by Mr. Le Thanh Son (born in 1970, residing in An Khe ward) - the commander of the construction site (the project to upgrade the drainage system of Nguyen Duy Trinh street, Ngu Hanh Son ward) to clean up the sewers, to prepare for handover to the Management Board of priority infrastructure investment projects in Da Nang city when the above death incident occurred.
