On February 5, Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee held a conference on the implementation of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the province.
Emphasizing that the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province is not only a political task but also demonstrates the affection and concern of the Party Committee and the government for people with revolutionary contributions and martyrs' relatives, poor and near-poor households, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau requested the Steering Committees at all levels to continue to direct and resolutely implement the work contents, striving to complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province in June 2025.
According to the report at the conference, to date, 100% of districts, towns and cities have approved the list of households eligible for housing support. The total number of supported households is 1,638 (people with meritorious services to the revolution and relatives of martyrs is 984 households; poor and near-poor households is 654 households).
Of which, 782 households (380 households of people with meritorious services to the revolution and relatives of martyrs, 402 poor households and near-poor households) built new houses, and 856 households (604 households of people with meritorious services to the revolution and relatives of martyrs, 252 poor households and near-poor households) repaired houses.

The total estimated support budget is 121 billion VND. Of which, the central budget supports 80% of the budget for households with revolutionary contributions and martyrs' relatives with 60 million VND/household for households building new houses, 30 million VND/household for households repairing existing houses, with a total support budget of 32,736,000,000 VND.
The remaining funds will be provided by the provincial budget and socialized sources. It is expected that in February, the Provincial People's Council will pass a resolution on housing support for families of people with revolutionary contributions, relatives of martyrs, poor households, and near-poor households in Hai Duong province at a thematic session.
To mobilize social resources to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province launched a campaign calling on agencies, units, organizations and businesses to support 9.3 billion VND and is continuing to call for and receive funding sources.
In addition, Kinh Mon Town People's Committee committed to providing additional support of 20 million VND/new house and 10 million VND/repaired house for households in the management area.
Chi Linh City commits to support 100% of newly built and repaired houses in the management area with socialized resources.
The Provincial Women's Union registered to support 11 newly built houses and 4 repaired houses in districts, towns and cities with a total support budget of 880 million VND and will support 200 million VND for 2 households to build new houses in February 2025.
