According to a report from Vinh Long Provincial Police, on February 17-18, the whole province discovered 125 cases of alcohol concentration violations. Most violators said that because they went to wish Tet, meet relatives and friends, they used alcohol and beer before driving.
Real-world records show that many violations are at a low level. For example, Mr. T.V. H (Cau Ke commune) said that because his relative's house is about 2km away, he thought he would only drink a few glasses of beer and then come home to entertain guests, unexpectedly encountering a checkpoint and being found to be violating.
Lieutenant Colonel Bui Thanh Mong - Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department of Vinh Long Provincial Police - said that in two days, the force organized 888 patrols and inspections on key routes, thereby detecting 393 cases of traffic safety violations.
Among the total violations, there are 125 cases related to alcohol concentration. All cases are recorded and handled in accordance with regulations. The inspection is carried out publicly, transparently, without exception to ensure deterrence and accident prevention.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Mong, through many propaganda campaigns, people's awareness of law compliance has gradually improved. However, during holidays and Tet, subjective psychology and the habit of "drinking a few drinks at the beginning of the year" are still common, posing a potential risk of traffic unsafety.
In the coming time, the Traffic Police Department will continue to maintain patrols and controls combined with direct propaganda. Functional forces recommend that people who have used alcohol and beer do not drive, proactively choose safe vehicles to ensure joyful early spring days.
