According to the Department's official dispatch, in recent days, Ha Long Canned Food Joint Stock Company (Halong Canfoco) has been discovered by functional agencies to violate regulations on food safety and hygiene in processing and packaging finished canned food, including products labeled "Pate Cot Den Hai Phong". Notably, the name pate Cot Den Hai Phong of Ha Long Canned Food Joint Stock Company coincides with the famous traditional pate product of the city, associated with the Hai Phong Foodtour brand, sold by business households in Cot Den market, Le Chan ward for many years. This has caused misunderstanding in public opinion, negatively affecting the business activities of people and directly affecting the reputation and image of the city's tourism.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism affirmed that, in fact, these two products are completely unrelated to each other. The famous traditional pate of Cot Den market is chosen by people and tourists every time they come to Hai Phong, is one of the specialties bearing the city's brand. Unlike the canned pate product line of Ha Long Canned Food Joint Stock Company (industrially produced, in small tin cans, with long shelf life and widely distributed throughout supermarkets nationwide), Cot Den traditional pate is fresh pate, with the characteristic fattyness of melted fat, the aroma of liver and fried garlic, usually with a short shelf life, needs to be refrigerated to retain its original taste. This specialty gift is processed from business households in the Cot Den market area, Chua Hang street, Le Chan ward, mainly sold in the Cot Den market area and neighboring streets (Hang Kenh, Nguyen Cong Tru...).
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism requests Le Chan Ward People's Committee and press agencies to widely propagate on mass media to avoid confusion and affect the brand of traditional specialty products of the people and the Foodtour Hai Phong brand.

After this incident, the traditional pate market was also affected. From January 12, Ha Long Canned Food Joint Stock Company also temporarily suspended production activities at a factory in Hai Phong.
