According to the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Bach Long Vi district (Hai Phong), due to the complicated developments of storm No. 3, by this morning, September 5, the forces had brought 92 vessels with 125 workers ashore, 9 vessels were being brought ashore, and no vessels were operating at sea.
8 vessels from other provinces are anchored at the port; 135 vessels are operating from 1 to 15 nautical miles from the island (according to observation of radar station 490/HQ).
Currently, the Steering Committee assigned Bach Long Vi Border Guard Station to coordinate with Radar Station 490 to continue to contact, notify, and call on boat and vehicle owners operating on Bach Long Vi sea to urgently move their vehicles to a safe place to avoid the storm. The district police ensure security, order, and safety of people's property, especially vehicles on the shore of the port promenade.
The Port Management Board and the ship anchorage area coordinate with functional forces to prepare to evacuate households in the waterfront area of the port promenade when needed.
In Cat Hai island district, by noon of the same day, the total number of boats and ships taking shelter from storm No. 3 in the area was 750 with 1,905 workers. The total number of aquaculture and aquatic service facilities in the district was 123 with 260 workers.
The District Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense is instructing organizations and individuals to arrange 10 service and tourism rafts to safe shelters; mobilizing 100% of people on aquaculture rafts to evacuate to safe shelters before 12:00 on September 6.
Cat Ba Island currently has more than 2,000 tourists, most of whom are international visitors. The district's Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue has informed businesses, tourist areas, restaurants, hotels and tourists staying in the area about the developments of storm No. 3.
At Ngoc Hai Fishing Port (Hai Son Ward, Do Son District), Lao Dong reported that by noon on September 5, many boats had returned to their anchorage. About 200 tourists staying there were also informed about the developments of storm No. 3.
