The City People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to preside over and work with the Advisory Council for Naming and Re-naming streets and public works in Hai Phong City and relevant departments, branches, localities and units to effectively implement the Project on Banking for Names of Roads, Streets and Public Works in Hai Phong City approved by the City People's Committee in Decision No. 2975/QDDUBND dated November 12, 2018 and the Decisions on adding names approved by the City People's Committee according to current regulations.
Departments, branches, People's Committees of communes, wards, special zones, relevant agencies and units, based on their functions, powers and tasks, proactively coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to implement according to regulations; ensure meaning, practicality and effectiveness.
In this period, the list of additional street names includes the names of Mr. Le Van Thanh (1962 - 2023), former member of the Party Central Committee, former Deputy Prime Minister for the 2016 - 2021, 2021 - 2026 term. He was born and raised in Tan Lien commune, Hai Phong city (now Vinh Bao commune, Hai Phong city). He was former Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Hai Phong City People's Council; Member of the 12th and 13th Party Central Committee; National Assembly Delegate of the 12th tenure. During the period of Mr. Le Van Thanh holding the position of Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee, the city's budget increased, so many traffic routes and bridges connecting the inner city and suburbs in Hai Phong, connecting Hai Phong with neighboring provinces, strongly promoting the city's socio-economic development.
In 2021, he was elected Deputy Prime Minister for the 2016 - 2021 term. After a period of serious illness, despite the dedicated care and treatment of the Party, the State, the collective of professors, doctors and his family, due to a serious illness, he passed away on August 22, 2023 at his home, at the age of 61. During his work, he was awarded the Second Class Labor Medal, National Emulation Fighter and many other noble Orders and Medals by the Party and the State.
