Hai Phong authorities have penalized 31,660 cases of drivers violating alcohol concentration in 2024.

On January 2, Hai Phong City Police said that the Traffic Police Department informed that in 2024, the city's police forces patrolled, controlled and implemented a special topic on alcohol concentration, detecting and handling 31,660 cases of drivers violating alcohol concentration while participating in traffic.

Police forces throughout the city detected and handled 335 cars, 28,575 motorbikes, 617 electric motorbikes and 2,133 rudimentary vehicles. The total fines for each violation were VND120,492,361,000.

Of which, the Traffic Police Department handled 10,037 violations, including 129 cars, 9,284 motorbikes, and 86 electric motorbikes. Hai Phong Police conducted a special alcohol concentration test for drivers in Vinh Bao district, with fines for each violation exceeding VND43 billion.

In the coming time, the Traffic Police Department will continue to strengthen patrolling, controlling and handling violations of traffic safety order, effectively implementing peak periods and specialized plans on handling violations. In particular, focusing on the topic of alcohol concentration for drivers of road motor vehicles with the spirit of "no forbidden zones", "no exceptions".
