On the morning of February 1st, a representative of the Railway Project Management Board (Ministry of Construction) - said that currently, the new Deo Ngang tunnel project has reached a volume of about 97%, and is expected to be completed and put into operation in about 7 - 10 days.
The new Deo Ngang tunnel is part of the project to upgrade and expand some bridges and tunnels on National Highway 1 invested by the Railway Project Management Board (Ministry of Construction), Song Da 10 Joint Stock Company is the construction unit.
In the North-South direction, the new Deo Ngang tunnel is located on the right, about 90 m away from the old Deo Ngang tunnel that has been in operation for a long time.
The new Deo Ngang tunnel through the Hoanh Son mountain range connecting Hoanh Son ward (Ha Tinh province) and Phu Trach commune (Quang Tri province) has a length of 650 m, of which the tunnel body is 555 m long, 10.5 m wide, 2 lanes, design speed of 80 km/h.
The "Deo Ngang Tunnel and bridges and access roads to the tunnel" project has a total investment of more than 516 billion VND. To date, the tunnel is basically completed with the lighting system installed, and is in the trial operation process.
The final items such as the fire prevention and fighting system are being urgently completed.
Along with the new Deo Ngang tunnel pipe, roads and bridges leading into and out of the tunnel are also being urgently constructed.
In which, the construction volume of the road and bridge section at the north entrance of the tunnel in Hoanh Son ward, Ha Tinh province is almost completed. The contractor is reinforcing the negative taluy slope and installing corrugated iron guardrails.
Bridges and roads at the south entrance of the tunnel are also focusing on construction to speed up progress to complete and put into operation according to plan.
